Vintage Spindler & Hoyer Gottinga 5×20 binoculars, made in Göttingen, Germany, probably dating from around the 1930s.

A compact early German binocular from the well-known optical maker Spindler & Hoyer.

Condition:

Optics are intact. Some accessible lens surfaces beneath the objectives and eyepieces, together with accessible prism faces, have been lightly cleaned. Binoculars currently produce a reasonably clear image for their age. Optical performance may be improved further by a complete professional internal cleaning.

Focusing mechanism operates smoothly. Some cosmetic wear, paint loss and surface marks from age and use, as shown in the photographs.
