Description

This listing is for a vintage Britex Minor monocular microscope, marked BRITEX MINOR with serial number 3715 and J.P. & S London maker/supplier markings to the base.

This is a compact British student/scientific microscope dating from approximately the mid-20th century, circa 1940s–1950s.

The microscope has a substantial black-painted metal stand with horseshoe-shaped base, adjustable stage, mirror illumination and telescopic/draw-tube optical system. Graduated markings 50 – 100 – 150 – 200 are present on the extending tube.

The microscope has been tested and is working. The optical components are intact and clean, and a clear image can be obtained through the microscope.

There is general cosmetic wear consistent with its age and use, including paint loss, marks, scratches and areas of surface wear to the black finish. There is also visible wear to the edges of the base and stand. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
