Description

For sale is a vintage pair of Kershaw “The Oxford” 8×24 binoculars, supplied with their original-style leather carry case and leather strap.

The binoculars are in usable vintage condition. The optics are intact and clean, and the binoculars produce a clear image when viewed through. The central focusing wheel and the eyepiece adjustment work well.

Cosmetically, there are normal signs of age and use, including light marks, scuffs and wear to the black finish, as shown in the photos. The leather covering is intact. The brown leather case is also included and shows age-related wear, but still in good solid condition.

Marked on top-left prism plate: 8×24 Kershaw, No.18303 Made in England

Marked on top-right prism plate: The Oxford

The underside prism plates appear to be hand-marked or engraved with the name “Davis” on one side and the date “30.III.39” on the other, likely indicating a previous owner and a date of 30 March 1939, adding extra historical interest to the binoculars.
