Vintage Astral Telescope Model 100 spotting scope / telescope, made in Japan.
This is a slim vintage refractor-style spotting scope with a 60mm achromatic coated objective lens and a draw-tube zoom eyepiece offering 15x, 30x, 45x and 60x magnification. A neat and attractive vintage Japanese optical instrument.
The body is finished in white with black fittings, and the scope retains its original period look. The label reads:

Note: The telescope is in good vintage cosmetic condition overall, with light age-related marks and scuffs to the tube and fittings. General signs of age and handling as shown in the photos.
One of the two focusing knobs is missing, although focus can still be adjusted using the remaining knob. The telescope also has two mounting points for attaching a tripod mounting bracket, but the bracket is not included. The objective lens shows some light cleaning marks, although these do not appear to affect the performance of the scope. Performance may improve further with more thorough cleaning.
