This device is specially made to connect Olympus Micro 4/3 SLR cameras to telescopes. It is also compatible with some Panasonic cameras (eg. Lumix G models and more. See note below).
You fit one end of this adapter to the Olympus Micro 4/3 camera’s main body (in place of the camera lens), and connect the other end either to a 1.25″ or 2″ T-adaptor, or directly to the threaded eyepiece section of your telescope if available. For example, the Nipon 800×80 scope’s eyepiece holder has a M42x1mm thread for adaptor connection. You can then take pictures through the scope. In effect, this device enables you to use the telescope lens as your camera lens for digi-scoping.
- Compatible with Olympus Micro 4/3 DSLR cameras and Panasonic Lumix G cameras with micro 4/3 lens mount for telescope connection.
- M42x1mm threads for telescopes and/or T-adapter connection.
- Built with metal material and black anodized.
Some telescopes have got male M42x1mm threads on the eyepiece holder (eg. Nipon 800×80 scope), so you can connect this adapter (and your Olympus Micro 4/3 or Panasonic cameras) directly to the scope.
Here are some camera models this adaptor can fit:
Olympus m. Zuiko Digital
Olympus PEN E-P1, E-P2
Panasonic Lumix G (and G X) series (eg. Lumix DMC-G1, GH1K, GF1)
Panasonic Leica DG
Two types of Micro 4/3 T-rings are available in this store. One is a thinner version and the other is this thicker version. Please choose a correct one according to the image focus requirement of your telescope / camera systems.
