For sale is a pair of vintage Carl Zeiss Jena Deltrentis 8×30 binoculars, serial number No. 1386057, with brown leather neck strap.

These are the Deltrentis model, which is the individual-eyepiece-focus version of the famous Zeiss 8×30 line. Each eyepiece focuses independently, allowing the user to adjust each side separately.
The optics are intact and the binoculars achieve a reasonably clear image for their age. Collimation is OK. Some internal lenses and prism surfaces, where accessible, have been lightly cleaned. There is only one small area, possibly under a prism face, which has not been cleaned due to inaccessibility. This is not visible when viewing through the binoculars in normal use and does not appear to affect performance.
Cosmetically, the binoculars are in used vintage condition, with age-related wear, paint loss, rubbing and marks to the black metal finish, especially around the edges, prism plates, eyepiece barrels and objective rims. The textured body covering is present and intact overall. The leather neck strap is included and shows age-related wear.
The original-style brown leather carry case is included. It has a purple velvet/felt-lined interior and remains usable, but shows noticeable vintage wear throughout, including scuffs, scratches, rubbing, creasing, edge wear, worn leather fittings and some wear to the inner lining.
A nice collectible pair of early Carl Zeiss Jena binoculars, suitable for vintage optics collectors, display, restoration interest or careful practical use.
