Description
For sale is a vintage Swallow 10×30 monocular, finished in an attractive green enamel body and marked “Coated Optics”. This is a well-made Japanese monocular, compact and solid, with a smooth focusing mechanism and bright image for its size.
The monocular features a twist focus ring near the objective end and coated glass to improve contrast and reduce glare — a desirable feature for optics of this era. Optics appear clear on inspection for its age, with no obvious fungus or haze visible during normal viewing.
Included is the original brown leather carry case with strap, which adds significant collector appeal.
Cosmetic wear is present, consistent with age and use, including small marks to the painted body and wear to the leather case and strap. All details are shown clearly in the photographs.
