MADE IN ENGLAND

Historical note: This rare early post-war Kershaw “40.5×40 Extra Wide Angle” binocular, serial No. 37203, was made in England circa 1948–1952. It features a unique wide-angle optical design introduced during Kershaw’s transition from military to civilian production following WWII.

Model marking “40.5×40 Extra Wide Angle” – Kershaw briefly used this unusual “40.5×40” marking before standardising to “5×40” on later The Monarch and The Renown series. It indicates 5× magnification with 40 mm objective lenses and a very wide field of view (≈ 11–12°).
