Description
A fine antique brass 3-draw telescope by Broadhurst Clarkson & Co. Ltd, engraved:
“BRODHURST CLARKSON & CO. LTD
63 Farringdon Road
London E.C.”
Marked 25×.
This is a classic 3-draw brass telescope, complete with its original leather carrying case and strap. A genuine late-19th / early-20th century optical instrument from one of London’s most respected makers.
The telescope extends and retracts smoothly and focuses as intended. Optics show age-appropriate characteristics consistent with use and storage over time, but remain intact with clean lenses and very clear images. The brass exhibits a natural aged patina, adding to its authentic character and historical appeal. No damage or dents to brass tubes.
Delivers very good viewing performance for an optical instrument of this age.
The leather case is original, showing heavy wear, scuffs, and surface losses consistent with age and long use. Stitching remains largely sound, and it still provides protection and presentation.
Magnification: 25x
Telescope Length: 26 cm (closed) – 74.5 cm (extended)
Objective lens diameter: 42mm
Main barrel diameter: 5 cm
