STEPRUVA
These binoculars are one of the earliest Ross 9×35 Stereo Prism models, before or around mid 1920s when the later named 9×35 Stepruva models became established. The engraving “Stereo Prism Binocular” is indicative of Ross London’s early to mid-20th-century design philosophy. This text emphasized their use of premium Porro prism systems to achieve true stereoscopic (3D) depth perception, a massive selling point for maritime use, nature observation, and sporting events at the time.
The binoculars have central focusing with LEFT eyepiece diopter adjustment and are fitted with their original-style leather neck strap.

Note:
The binoculars are in good used vintage condition overall, with age-related cosmetic wear. The black lacquered metalwork shows rubbing, paint loss, small scuffs and patina, especially around the eyepieces, bridge, objective rims and edges. The leather body coverings are still in good condition for their age and remain well fitted.
The internal optics have not been cleaned, although the binoculars are still quite usable and achieve a reasonably clear image for their age. The optics are intact. There is a very slight dot on the outside of one objective lens, but this does not affect performance in use. Performance could potentially be improved further if the internal lenses were cleaned. The central hinge feels a little stiff and may benefit from some oiling.
A nice early Ross London 9×35 binocular for collectors of vintage British optics, display, or careful practical use.
