Description

This is a classic vintage brass 3-draw telescope monocular, featuring a traditional multi-draw design with a black leather-covered grip section and extendable sunshade at the objective end.

The telescope has been carefully checked and cleaned where accessible. Internal lenses have been cleaned as far as possible without disassembly, and the scope produces a usable image consistent with its age and type.

Key Features

  • Solid brass construction with attractive natural patina
  • Multi-draw (collapsible) design – compact when closed, full length when extended
  • Black leather-covered grip with decorative stitching
  • Extendable sunshade to help reduce glare and ambient light reflections
  • Simple, robust optical design typical of late 19th–early 20th century field or maritime telescopes
  • Objective lens diameter: 40 mm
  • Main barrel diameter: 65 mm (measured at front)
  • Length: 27 cm (closed) – 91 cm (fully extended including sunshade)
  • Weight: approx. 1.1 kg

Note:

Good vintage condition overall. Surface wear and patina consistent with age. Leather covering is in good condition and presentable. Optics are intact and clean. Internal lenses have been cleaned where accessible. All tube sections move smoothly.

Better image quality is achieved with the sunshade fully extended, which reduces stray light and improves contrast.

Based on the design, materials, and construction details, this telescope is most likely of British manufacture, or made in collaboration with a partner workshop, dating to circa the early 1900s.
