Description
This is a charming antique brass pocket telescope / monocular, featuring a 7-draw collapsible tube design that folds compactly into a pocket-sized form. When fully extended, it reveals a stepped, tapering structure that was typical of late 19th to early 20th century personal field optics.
This example is unbranded, as many were, and is most likely of British manufacture, produced approximately between c.1880 and 1920. The brass body shows a naturally aged patina, and the draw sections extend and retract smoothly. The lens is intact and usable, but image clarity is basic and limited, consistent with optical standards of the era.
A lovely decorative and collectable optical piece – ideal for collectors of antique scientific instruments, maritime artefacts, or Victoriana.
