A pair of very rare antique German pre-WWI  C.P. Goerz Berlin Trieder Binocle 9x military binoculars in good working condition.

This is an early example of German military prism binoculars. The triangular aluminium barrels have rounded edges and are covered with brown leather. It is engraved “C.P.GOERZ BERLIN” on the front face of the left barrel, and “TRIEDER BINOCLE” with a triangular prism figure on the front face of the right barrel. “9x”, “Germany” and serial number “99634” are engraved on the bridges connecting the barrels.

Eyepiece diameter: approx. 11mm

Central thumbwheels for focusing and eyepiece focusing on the right eye lens.

Second central thumbwheel for eye separation.

Dimensions (when closed): 115mm (W) x 110mm (H) x 55mm (D)

Weight: approx. 540g

The binoculars lenses and prisms have been cleaned where possible and collimation adjusted. The binoculars give clear images for their age.

Wear and tear to the binoculars body appropriate with age and use.
