Description

This is a Victorian Magic Lantern projector, bearing “Patent No. 2459”. It is an early type of image projector that project printed or painted slide pictures onto the wall or screen. This project is in good and original condition, with electric light source, back lens and focus adjustable front lens.

This type of projectors were mostly developed in the 17th century and commonly used for entertainment purposes, as well as for education during the 19th century.

This item has been cleaned inside out, as well as all the lenses where possible. The electric cable with switch and light bulb are new replacements. The replacement bulb (with standard screw thread) is a small one which may not be powerful enough for the purpose of the project. The old light bulb has broken tungsten filament inside the bulb but it is included with the projector for information purpose.
